El DHS se\u00f1al\u00f3 que se tramita la deportaci\u00f3n inmediata de Ch\u00e1vez Jr. Asimismo, mencion\u00f3 que el originario de Culiac\u00e1n tiene una orden de arresto activa en M\u00e9xico \u201cpor su participaci\u00f3n con el crimen organizado y el tr\u00e1fico de armas de fuego, municiones y explosivos\u201d.\u201cBajo el presidente Trump, nadie est\u00e1 por encima de la ley, incluidos los atletas de fama mundial\u201d, dijo la secretaria adjunta del DHS, Tricia McLaughlin.El arresto de Ch\u00e1vez Jr se produjo en Studio City, California, el pasado 2 de julio de 2025.<\/p>\n<p>El DHS indic\u00f3 que el boxeador mexicano ingres\u00f3 al pa\u00eds en agosto de 2023 de manera legal, con una visa de turista B2 v\u00e1lida hasta febrero de 2024.En abril de ese mismo a\u00f1o, solicit\u00f3 la residencia alegando estar casado con una ciudadana estadunidense, quien es prima de un hijo de Joaqu\u00edn \u201cEl Chapo\u201d Guzm\u00e1n. En diciembre, la Oficina de Ciudadan\u00eda e Inmigraci\u00f3n (USCIS) lo clasific\u00f3 como \u201cuna amenaza para la seguridad p\u00fablica\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Un informe del sistema de seguridad p\u00fablica del DHS, bajo la administraci\u00f3n Joe Biden, indic\u00f3 que Ch\u00e1vez Jr no era una prioridad para la aplicaci\u00f3n de la ley migratoria.El 4 de enero de 2025, la administraci\u00f3n Biden permiti\u00f3 a Ch\u00e1vez reingresar al pa\u00eds y le otorg\u00f3 libertad condicional en el puerto de entrada de San Ysidro, California.<\/p>\n<p>El 27 de junio de 2025 se determin\u00f3 que Ch\u00e1vez Jr se encontraba en EU de manera ilegal, debido a que proporcion\u00f3 informaci\u00f3n fraudulenta en la solicitud de residencia legal permanente.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLa detenci\u00f3n de Ch\u00e1vez Jr. es un ejemplo claro de c\u00f3mo actuamos contra personas peligrosas con v\u00ednculos con organizaciones criminales transnacionales\u201d, afirm\u00f3 Patrick J.
